Best ever GCSE results day!

Following a big upgrade from Ofsted in July, the positive impact of the many improvements our school has seen are reflected in a stellar set of results that exceed national averages in almost all areas.

76% of students achieved grade 4 or higher in both English and maths with 59% upping that to a grade 5 or higher - these are Rye Hills strongest set of results in English and maths to date.

There were numerous stand out performances with Reuben Webster emerging as our top performer with grade 9s across the board (the highest grades possible). William Walker achieved grade 8s or higher in all subjects and Kirsty Winn and Emma Hathaway both achieved all grade 7s or above.

Excellent progress overall was made by Oscar Whiteside, Bayan Kreiz, Oscar Maher, Ruby McKeown and Adam Behrens who all excelled in many subjects.

Speaking of the latest good news for Rye Hills, our Head of School, Mr Zaheer, said:

“I am delighted to be able to celebrate our students’ wonderful achievements in their examinations. We, as a staff body, are incredibly proud of the journey our students have been on and consider it a privilege to have been part of that journey to our strongest GCSE results in the school’s history. Well done Class of 2024!”

Lesley Powell, Chief Executive of our sponsor, the North East Learning Trust, added:

“These GCSE results are a testament to the hard work of Rye Hills’ students and the dedication of staff. The recent Ofsted upgrade has been a tremendous boost for the school, validating our efforts to provide a high-quality education and we are thrilled to see our students reaping the benefits of the improvements we’ve made.”
