On Friday, 13th December, 165 enthusiastic runners braved the wintry wet weather to take part in the Rye Hills Reindeer Run in support of Teesside Hospice, a vital organisation providing palliative care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. The weather may have been wet, but it failed to dampen the spirits of participants, staff, and supporters.
This festive event proved to be a resounding success, donations currently stand at an impressive £1,961 for Teesside Hospice, beating last year’s total by over £500! The funds will contribute towards the hospice's compassionate care services, helping those in need during challenging times. A special mention to Poppy S in Y7 for raising £195 and is our top fundraiser, Lexi M in Y11 £102.50 and Ben Q Y7 £100. Thank you!
The race itself showcased both speed and holiday cheer. Lewis Y and Rosie C were the standout performers, crossing the finish line as the fastest male and female runners, respectively. Meanwhile, Harvey L and Yaseen E earned special recognition for their extraordinary display of festive spirit, delighting everyone with their cheer and enthusiasm.
The atmosphere was electric, with students, staff, and supporters coming together to make the event truly memorable. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the student marshals who ensured the event ran smoothly and the staff members who provided unwavering support in organising and supervising the run. Their dedication helped transform the Reindeer Run into a cherished moment of community spirit and festive joy.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated, supported, or contributed to this event. Together, we made a meaningful impact and spread holiday cheer while supporting a cause close to our hearts.
